Young Children Can Learn - Level 5
Concepts covered include:
Numeration 5.1 giving students practice and conceptual understanding of place value of large numbers, addition and
subtraction of 5 and 6 digit numbers, multiplication of 2 and 3 digit numbers and other problems that can be done mentally,
division of 3, 4, and 5 digit numbers, and expressing multiplication problems in exponential form.
Numeration 5.2 giving students practice and conceptual understanding of dealing with changing improper fractions to
proper fractions, renaming fractions into their simples form, adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators,
simple multiplication and division of fractions and finding ratios.
Numeration 5.3 giving students practice and conceptual understanding of place value of decimals, equivalents between
fractions and decimals, rounding decimals to their nearest who numbers, adding and subtracting multiple place decimals,
multiplying and dividing decimals, and matching fractions and decimals to percentages.
Algebra Concepts giving students practice and conceptual understanding of critical Algebra concepts including,
determining rules to find missing numbers, understanding numeric representations of statements, solving for unknowns with
multiplication and division, using given information to find the value of shapes and other forms of unknowns commonly used in
Algebra problems.
Geometry & Measurement giving students practice and conceptual understanding of important geometric illustrations
including names of shapes, explanations of angles and then using that information to solve problems. Also included are
problems with equivalents, diameter, radius, perimeters, area volume and symmetry.
Probability & Statistics giving students practice and conceptual understanding of important various probabilities
when using spinners, coins, and items from sets. Also included are problems dealing with mean, median, mode, range, using
